JD Vance says the United States has destroyed Iran's nuclear program and conventional military.

The Vice President sat down with Fox News co-host Kayleigh McEnany on Saturday for a wide-ranging conversation that covered everything from foreign policy to faith to the 2026 midterm elections, according to reports. And let's just say Vance came loaded for bear.

First up, the Iran situation. Vance revealed that his recent lunch with Republican senators was dominated by talk about the ongoing conflict with Tehran and budget matters. He painted a picture of serious progress, claiming the U.S. has not only wiped out Iran's nuclear capabilities but also gutted its conventional forces and taken a massive bite out of its asymmetric warfare tools. The current focus? Keeping oil and gas flowing through the Strait of Hormuz, with crude hovering around $80 per barrel. Vance wants to see pre-conflict volumes maintained and said the administration is watching closely to determine whether Iran will genuinely pivot toward a better relationship. If Tehran won't play ball, he promised continued diplomatic, economic, and military pressure.

"We're really in the middle of the game here," Vance told McEnany. "This thing is not over. It's obviously not at the beginning."

Then came the domestic fireworks. Vance was asked about President Trump's push for the SAVE America Act, which centers on voter identification requirements. He called it "absurd" that the country still lacks a national voter ID standard. That issue, he said, is the president's top legislative priority right now.

But the real spice came when McEnany brought up Michigan Democratic Senate hopeful Abdul El-Sayed, who has apparently been lobbing personal attacks at the VP. Vance did not hold back. He said he doesn't "pay that guy much mind" and then proceeded to absolutely torch him. He accused El-Sayed of claiming to champion working families while opposing Trump administration policies that Vance says rescued Michigan's auto industry. Instead of supporting real prosperity, Vance argued, El-Sayed favors raising taxes to fund progressive interest groups.

And then the kill shot: "I think the guy is crazy and would be a terrible senator for the people of Michigan."

Vance also took issue with El-Sayed going after his children, calling him "just kind of an odd guy" and suggesting that resorting to personal insults rather than discussing policy tells voters everything they need to know.

McEnany piled on, arguing that Democrats are essentially handing Republicans a gift heading into 2026. She pointed to progressive figures like Zohran Mamdani and unnamed Democratic senators who reportedly fear their own left-wing base so much they can't even negotiate with Republicans, leaving military families unpaid during government funding fights.

Vance also plugged his new book, "Communion: Finding My Way Back to Faith," which chronicles his personal journey from atheism to Christianity and Catholicism.

The bottom line? Vance is clearly in campaign mode already, drawing battle lines for next year's midterms while juggling a complex foreign policy landscape. And he's not pulling any punches.
