Jesse Watters Caught At Golf Event After Telling Viewers He Was On Assignment

Jesse Watters told Fox News viewers he was away on assignment, but his wife's Instagram told a very different story.

The popular host of "Jesse Watters Primetime" and co-host of "The Five" had been MIA from the network, leaving fans wondering where he disappeared to. His official explanation? He was working on something big. But then Emma Watters, his wife, dropped a family photo on Instagram that blew that whole narrative apart, as reported by multiple outlets covering the fallout.

Emma posted a picture on Tuesday featuring Watters alongside her, his twin daughters Sophie and Ellie from his previous marriage, and their two kids together, Jesse Jr. and Georgina. The caption was just one word: "LIV." That strongly suggested the whole clan was hanging out at the LIV Golf Invitational Series in Bedminster, New Jersey. Not exactly what most people picture when they hear "on assignment."

And oh boy, did Watters' own audience let him have it.

One viewer wrote that Watters always claims to be working on a big assignment and questioned why he cannot simply admit he is vacationing with his family. Another commenter compared his time off to the United States Senate, saying Watters takes more breaks than they do. That is genuinely brutal.

Other fans were equally unimpressed. One sarcastically noted they finally understood why her husband was not at work, pointing out he had claimed it was for professional reasons. Someone else flat out called it a lie, adding that dishonesty from Watters was hardly surprising at this point. Yet another viewer urged him to just be honest about taking time off instead of making himself look foolish trying to spin it as work.

The drama did not stop there. Before the golf photo surfaced, viewers were already fuming about Watters being gone from "The Five" the previous week. Fox News senior foreign policy correspondent Gillian Turner filled his seat, and the reception was absolutely brutal.

One viewer on X called Turner a "terrible substitute" and begged Fox News to stop putting her on the show. Another simply announced they were changing the channel. A particularly fired up commenter labeled Turner a "pathetic phony" who pretends to be moderate while actually leaning liberal, claiming she was even worse than regular panelist Jessica Tarlov.

Watters remains among the biggest conservative personalities on Fox News, which is precisely why his fans notice every single time he is not on screen. The man has built a loyal following that tunes in specifically for him. So when he vanishes and the explanation does not add up, his audience is going to call it out.

The lesson here is pretty simple. If you are going to tell millions of viewers you are off doing important work, maybe make sure your wife is not simultaneously posting vacation photos on social media. Just a thought, Jesse.
