On July 13, 2026, Greta Thunberg was detained in Berlin, Germany, along with dozens of other activists after they blocked entrances and staged a sit-in at the offices of German arms manufacturer Rheinmetall.
The protest, organized by the coalition “Peacefully Against Genocide,” targeted the company’s defense exports to Israel.
This came after a string of high-profile detentions over the past year, including her arrest in late 2025 in London during a pro-Palestinian demonstration outside an insurance firm linked to Israeli defense companies, as well as her detention by Israeli forces while taking part in an aid flotilla attempting to break the naval blockade of Gaza.
