Brewery co-owner arrested for breaking into 13-year-old girl’s home and raping her

Justin Tawse Brigham is the co-founder of Sycamore Brewing in Charlotte, North Carolina, who was arrested on serious felony charges related to the statutory rape of a minor.

He was apprehended on December 10, 2025, after the parents of a 13-year-old girl in Stanly County found an unknown man in their daughter's bedroom. Brigham was found undressed in a nearby car and arrested. Authorities revealed he had been communicating with the victim via social media for two weeks.

Brigham was charged with first-degree burglary, statutory rape of a child by an adult, and indecent liberties with a child, and is currently being held on a $10 million bond.

Following his arrest, Sycamore Brewing announced that Brigham would divest all interest and involvement, leaving his wife and co-founder, Sarah Taylor, in full leadership.

Several grocery chains and local businesses subsequently pulled Sycamore Brewing products from sale.
