Tim Walz says people are driving by his house calling him the R-WORD

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz has stated that people are driving by his official residence and shouting "retarded" at him.

Walz made these claims following a social media post and subsequent comments by President Trump in late November and early December 2025 where the President referred to Walz as "seriously retarded."

Walz mentioned this harassment during a press conference on December 4, 2025, stating, "In my time on this, I'd never seen this before: People driving by my house and using the R-word in front of people."

He expressed deep concern, linking the incidents to the President's language and worrying that the "taunts" could "turn to violence."

Walz's son, Gus, has a non-verbal learning disorder, a fact the governor and his wife have shared publicly. The incidents have drawn significant media coverage and criticism from various sources, who view the behavior as shameful and potentially encouraged by the President's remarks.
