Driver JUMPS out of car, leaving it to get SMASHED by train

This video took place in Utah and it shows a driver jumps out of their car, leaving it on the train tracks to get hit. They tried to back up but the thing that goes up and down was DOWN. So, they could have just kept driving forward as the train was still far away at that point. But nope, they backed up, left the front of the car on the tracks, and got out and waited for the train to smash the car. This is just wild. Panic must have set in.
