Well, Thursday night got interesting. President Trump delivered a primetime Oval Office address that Senator Bernie Moreno compared to the Cuban Missile Crisis speeches, and honestly, the contents are wild enough that the comparison doesn't feel as hyperbolic as it should.
As USA Journal reported, Trump declassified and released a stack of intelligence documents that he says reveal the largest election security breach in American history. Not speculation, not a press conference with dramatic music. Actual documents, authenticated by the CIA director, the FBI director, the DNI, and the DHS secretary, now posted at WhiteHouse.gov for anyone with an internet connection and a strong stomach.
Here is the short version of what those documents allegedly show: During the 2020 election cycle, Chinese intelligence services obtained 220 million voter files across 18 states. China reportedly set up a dedicated data exploitation unit just for this operation. Members of the American intelligence community knew about it. They buried it.
And when I say buried, I mean they apparently went full spy novel. One analyst admitted to deliberately downplaying Chinese election interference. An FBI official described herself as running a "shadow government" to keep intelligence about China's meddling away from other officials and the White House. NSA members allegedly altered a Presidential Daily Briefing to hide the assessment that China was trying to influence the election in Biden's favor. Burn bags from documents ordered destroyed by the Obama administration have reportedly been found.
Raw FBI intelligence from 2020 stated that China's activities included an attempt to produce illegal ballots for Joe Biden. The CIA reportedly knew as early as mid 2018 that China's strategy was to leverage every element opposed to Trump. By mid 2019, China was allegedly paying American journalists to write negative stories about the president. By mid 2020, swing states were being targeted.
Meanwhile in Michigan, state police raided a Democrat GOTV operation in Muskegon where canvassers were allegedly signing voter registration forms in other people's names, registering nonexistent individuals, and getting paid per application. The FBI believed crimes were committed. The Biden DOJ slow walked the case into oblivion.
DHS has now identified over 270,000 noncitizens enrolled on voter rolls, with the real number likely higher because several blue states are refusing to hand over their data. Nothing says transparency like refusing to cooperate with a federal audit.
Oh, and NBC and ABC refused to air the address. Trump called them out by name from the podium and demanded their broadcasting licenses be reviewed. Those two networks apparently decided that a presidential address containing declassified intelligence about a foreign government compromising American elections was not newsworthy enough for their viewers. Bold editorial choice.
"Great damage has been done to our country," Trump said. "The trust of the American people has been lost."
The documents are available at WhiteHouse.gov for anyone who wants to read them. Whether you trust the source or not, the fact that 220 million voter files ended up in Chinese hands and nobody bothered to mention it for six years is the kind of thing that should make everyone, regardless of party, a little nauseous.
