Michael LaRosa Ditches Democrats To Back GOP Senate Candidate

Jill Biden's former press secretary just went rogue, and the left is absolutely losing its mind over it.

Michael LaRosa, who served as the spokesperson for the former First Lady during the Biden administration, has publicly thrown his weight behind Republican Senate nominee Mike Rogers in Michigan. He chose the GOP candidate over Abdul El-Sayed, who carries the endorsement of the Democratic Socialists of America, according to The American Tribune. That is a bombshell defection from someone who spent years in Biden's inner circle.

So how did this all go down? LaRosa shared a quote on social media from Democratic strategist Julian Epstein, who declared that after years of pouring his heart into backing Democratic congressional candidates, he planned to support and contribute to Rogers instead. LaRosa then posted one single word beneath it: "SAME." That was all it took to set the political world on fire.

The Rogers campaign wasted zero time rolling out the welcome mat. They replied to LaRosa's post with open arms, writing that they were glad to have his support in the fight to save the state. LaRosa reposted their response, making it crystal clear where he stands.

Predictably, the backlash from the left came fast and furious. LaRosa got absolutely torched by his own side. But the next day, he addressed the firestorm with a mix of amusement and defiance.

He wrote on X that he found it genuinely flattering that a single word could transform into a political lightning rod overnight. He pointed out that he holds no public office, commands no constituency, and has zero endorsement infrastructure. He does not even vote in Michigan. Nobody recruited him to back Rogers or sign onto any campaign.

LaRosa described himself as nothing more than a lifelong political junkie who tweets out of boredom in his spare time. He insisted he has no cult following and seeks no role in the race whatsoever.

But then came the real punch. LaRosa explained that he could never get behind someone like El-Sayed. He called Rogers a "reasonable" Republican and said he would rather see him in the Senate than support a Democrat who, in his view, lacks the guts to stand up against rhetoric he considers corrosive, antisemitic, and dangerous. He specifically referenced Hasan Piker in his criticism.

LaRosa's resume makes this defection particularly juicy. He worked as Jill Biden's chief spokesman throughout the 2020 presidential campaign and the transition period. He then officially became her press secretary from January 2021 through July 2022, simultaneously holding a title as special assistant to President Joe Biden himself.

This is not some random party operative jumping ship. This is someone who traveled with the Bidens, worked inside the White House, and now publicly says the Democratic Party has a problem worth fighting against. The Michigan Senate race just got a whole lot more interesting.
