Georgia Senator Jon Ossoff dragged a female White House staffer into his political attacks with zero evidence.
The Democratic senator, who is also floated as a potential 2028 presidential hopeful, went after Natalie Harp, President Trump's executive assistant, during a campaign event in Atlanta on Sunday. As reported, Ossoff told the crowd that Trump has no interest in governing, claiming the president naps through briefings, hits the golf course, and trades stocks while Navy sailors aboard the Lincoln carry out military operations.
Then came the real bombshell. Ossoff shifted his aim directly at Harp, saying Trump just wants to construct his ballroom and jet around with "Natalie" aboard their "apparently defenseless flying palace gifted by the Emir of Qatar." The crowd went wild. But critics immediately noticed what Ossoff was doing, calling out his use of Harp's first name as a deliberate, suggestive jab designed to imply something personal between the president and his aide. He provided absolutely no proof of anything inappropriate.
The whole thing amounted to turning a woman who serves in the White House into a punchline for a male politician's stump speech. Classic cheap shot politics.
Trump fired back from the Oval Office on Monday, comparing Ossoff to Pee-wee Herman when CNN's Kristen Holmes asked about the senator's comments. The president said he would "much rather do other things" and defended the construction project Ossoff mocked, calling it a "great facility" that goes well beyond just a ballroom.
But it was Trump's communications team that truly unleashed. White House communications director Steven Cheung posted a scorching response, calling Ossoff "Jon Jackoff" and labeling him "the biggest cuck loser in politics." Cheung said the senator should look deep into his soul instead of tearing down hardworking public servants. Another White House spokesman, Davis Ingle, piled on by describing Ossoff as a "cringeworthy, feminine theatre kid cosplaying as Barack Obama" and a "lightweight loser."
The intensity of the White House clap back shows Team Trump is keeping very close tabs on Ossoff as he battles for reelection in one of America's fiercest battleground states. Republican Rep. Mike Collins, backed by Trump himself, is the man trying to unseat him this November. A Fox News survey from June had Ossoff leading Collins by 13 points among registered Georgia voters, though insiders from both parties expect that gap to shrink considerably.
Ossoff has been framing the midterms around corruption, inflation, and foreign policy failures. His rising national visibility has only added fuel to the 2028 presidential chatter.
Meanwhile, this stunt could backfire badly. Trump's MAGA Inc. super PAC is sitting on a massive $400 million war chest. Two sources with knowledge of the operation say the president has greenlit an initial wave of multimillion dollar spending that could begin rolling out within weeks. Targeting Harp may have just painted a bigger bullseye on Ossoff's back.
