Vice President JD Vance just sat down with Fox News and absolutely unloaded on everything from nuclear threats to Democratic challengers, and the tea is piping hot.
In a wide-ranging Saturday conversation with co-host Kayleigh McEnany, Vance delivered updates that have political insiders buzzing, as Conservative Brief reported. The VP came fresh off a lunch meeting with Republican senators where Iran and budget priorities took center stage, and he had plenty to spill.
First up, the Iran situation. Vance claimed that America has effectively wiped out Iran's nuclear program, demolished its conventional military capabilities, and seriously degraded its asymmetric warfare tools. That is a massive flex. He described active negotiations centered on keeping oil and gas flowing through the Strait of Hormuz, noting crude prices hovering near $80 per barrel. The expectation? Pre-conflict oil volumes need to stay intact. Vance cautioned everyone not to celebrate too early, saying the administration is "in the middle of the game" and that diplomatic, economic, and military pressure will keep grinding until Iran either plays ball or faces continued consequences.
Then things got spicy on the domestic front. Vance declared that passing the SAVE America Act is President Trump's top legislative priority, calling it "absurd" that this country still lacks a voter ID requirement. Red meat for the base, served sizzling.
But the juiciest moment? When McEnany brought up Michigan Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed, who has apparently been lobbing personal attacks at the VP. Vance's response was pure dismissal. He said he doesn't "pay that guy much mind" and then proceeded to absolutely torch him anyway. Vance accused El-Sayed of claiming to champion working families while simultaneously opposing Trump policies that he says rescued Michigan's auto industry. According to Vance, El-Sayed would rather raise taxes to fund Democratic interest groups than actually rebuild the middle class. And then came the knockout punch: Vance said El-Sayed has targeted his children, called him "just kind of an odd guy," and flatly declared he would be "a terrible senator for the people of Michigan."
McEnany piled on by pointing out what she called a complete Democratic meltdown. She highlighted a quote from a Democratic senator warning colleagues they'll "get hammered" for cooperating with Republicans. She also pointed to the progressive left wing animating candidates like Zohran Mamdani, suggesting that fear of their own base has paralyzed Democratic leadership to the point where they can't even ensure military families receive their paychecks during government funding fights.
McEnany framed all of this as a massive political gift heading into the 2026 midterm elections, arguing that Democrats are essentially sabotaging themselves. The progressive faction is calling the shots, moderate voices are terrified to push back, and Republicans are sitting pretty watching the chaos unfold.
Vance also plugged his new book, "Communion: Finding My Way Back to Faith," which chronicles his personal journey from atheism back to Christianity and Catholicism. Because apparently destroying geopolitical rivals and roasting Senate candidates wasn't enough content for one interview.
