ICE Just Broke Its Own Record Two Months in a Row

Well, folks, ICE just went on an absolute tear in July 2026, racking up 51,000 immigration arrests in a single month, which is the biggest number the agency has ever posted. That averages out to roughly 1,654 people getting nabbed every single day, which means ICE agents are working harder than a Waffle House cook on a Saturday night. As The American Tribune reported, this comes right on the heels of June's record of nearly 43,000 arrests, so they basically smashed their own high score two months running. Somebody over there is clearly on a hot streak.

Federal sources told Fox News that the numbers took a dip earlier because of unrest in Minneapolis, but then things got cranked back up once the Homeland Security shutdown ended. Apparently billions of dollars from two reconciliation bills came flooding in, and thousands of new ICE personnel got hired. Funny how things start working when you actually fund them and put people on the job. Revolutionary concept, truly.

The Department of Homeland Security was so pumped about the results that they hopped on X to give their officers a virtual high five. Their post praised ICE for "arresting and DEPORTING dangerous criminal illegal aliens, including gang members." Yes, they used all caps on DEPORTING, because subtlety has never been this administration's strong suit. The post also name dropped President Trump and Secretary Mullin, because what good is a victory lap without tagging the boss?

Meanwhile, down in Harlingen, Texas, one ICE field office decided to have its own personal record day by busting 238 people in 24 hours. That set a new benchmark for targeted arrests in the Rio Grande Valley. Among those scooped up were a Paisas gang member and a Mexican national with prior convictions for attempted kidnapping, sexual battery, and illegal entry. Juan Agudelo, who runs that field office, said his team is committed to "enhancing public safety" and promised they would keep going "one criminal illegal alien at a time." One at a time sounds slow, but apparently it adds up pretty fast when you do it 51,000 times a month.

Over on Facebook, the comment section was predictably fired up. One person wrote "Wonderful! Keep up the great work!" while another demanded they double the numbers. Perhaps the spiciest take came from someone who did the math and pointed out that at 51,000 per month, clearing out the estimated 16 million who entered during the Biden years would take roughly 26 years. So basically, this enforcement effort could outlast most mortgages.

Another commenter noted that ankle bracelets are being slapped on TPS holders who haven't been removed yet, and predicted August numbers will climb even higher. At this pace, ICE might need to start printing monthly scorecards like a bowling league.
