Actor Alan Ritchson is now dealing with a tsunami of boycott threats from MAGA conservatives after he went on a profanity-laden tirade about President Donald Trump during a podcast appearance, as reported by The American Tribune. The timing could not be worse for Ritchson, who has a fresh season of Reacher dropping on Amazon Prime in August and a new film called Motor City currently playing in theaters.
So what exactly did our muscular leading man say? While promoting his movie on the Happy Sad Confused podcast with host Josh Horowitz, Ritchson went absolutely nuclear over Trump and the Epstein files. He accused the president of being a rapist, claimed Trump was involved with 13 year olds, and demanded he go to jail. He also declared he would personally obtain the Epstein documents if given the chance, delivering this promise with approximately seventeen f-bombs per sentence. Subtle stuff, really.
The MAGA faithful on X were not amused, to put it mildly. One user named Dolly urged everyone to boycott every single project Ritchson touches. Another fan lamented that they had accidentally been attributing Reacher's tough conservative values to the actor himself, which is basically the entertainment equivalent of finding out your favorite cowboy actor is terrified of horses. Someone else admitted they watched the entire first season without even knowing who Ritchson was, but now that they do, they plan to actively avoid him like he owes them money.
One particularly heartbroken viewer said they had been eagerly anticipating the new Reacher season but will now skip it entirely, along with both of his upcoming movies. That is the kind of disappointment usually reserved for discovering your favorite restaurant closed down.
The White House fired back through spokesperson Abigail Jackson, who stated that Trump has been totally exonerated regarding anything connected to Epstein. Jackson pointed to the administration releasing thousands of pages of documents, cooperating with the House Oversight Committee subpoena, and signing the Epstein Files Transparency Act as proof. She also threw some shade at Democrats, specifically mentioning Hakeem Jeffries and Stacey Plaskett, questioning why they were soliciting money and meetings from Epstein after he had already been convicted.
Another supporter on X predicted it would be fascinating to watch Reacher's viewership numbers crater. And honestly, that might be the most interesting plot twist the show has ever produced. Nothing says compelling television drama quite like a leading man torpedoing his own audience while doing press for a completely unrelated movie.
