Hunter Biden just dropped a bombshell during a BBC interview on Friday, revealing that his father's stage 4 prostate cancer has gotten significantly worse. The disease has now metastasized into the former president's bones and beyond, according to Hunter, who hinted that time may be running short for the 82-year-old. As Conservative Brief reported, Hunter described his father's condition as "very painful" and "very debilitating in many respects."
Hunter appeared visibly emotional during the sit-down, nearly choking up while talking about watching his dad deteriorate. He actually wished his father would complain more because the situation is clearly dire. "It's not good," he admitted. But even through all of it, Hunter insisted his dad is still pushing forward, saying he "so believes in this country."
Let's rewind for a second. Americans were absolutely floored when Joe Biden publicly announced his cancer diagnosis back in May 2025, just months after vacating the Oval Office. The bombshell revelation included the possibility that doctors had known about the condition for years prior. His medical team noted at the time that the cancer appeared to be hormone-sensitive, which opened the door for treatment options focused on managing it.
Former first lady Jill Biden acknowledged during a June appearance on "The View" that things had "slowed down" for her husband since learning about the diagnosis, though she maintained he was keeping busy.
Now here is where politics enters the picture, because you cannot separate Joe Biden's health from the absolute circus that was his 2024 campaign. His physical and mental fitness dominated headlines throughout his presidency, and it all came crashing down after that catastrophic debate performance against Donald Trump. Biden looked completely lost and confused at various points during the exchange. Trump did not hold back, quipping that neither he nor Biden understood what Biden was trying to say.
Biden and practically every Democrat in Washington tried spinning it as just a rough night. He told George Stephanopoulos he was simply exhausted and ignored his instincts. Nobody was buying it. Kamala Harris swooped in as the replacement nominee within weeks, burned through a staggering $1.5 billion in campaign cash, and still lost every single swing state plus the popular vote to Trump.
In a separate BBC conversation, Hunter got remarkably candid about how his well-documented crack cocaine addiction put enormous strain on his father during that turbulent period. He flat out admitted it without hesitation, saying addiction affects everyone around you, "but, in particular" his dad.
Hunter credited his father's refusal to give up on him as the thing that ultimately saved his life. He pushed back hard against the popular notion that addicts need to hit rock bottom, noting that people he personally knew who reached that point ended up "either dead or in jail."
The Biden family has endured more than their share of heartbreak. Joe's eldest son, Beau Biden, passed away from brain cancer back in 2015 at just 46 years old. Now the family faces another devastating health battle, and from everything Hunter is saying, this one is getting worse by the day.
