Governor Abigail Spanberger signed a bill that would give Virginia’s 13 electoral votes to the candidate who wins the most votes nationwide, regardless of how Virginians vote. The bill was pushed through quickly with mostly Democratic support.

The plan currently has 222 votes and needs 270 to take effect.

Once it does, Virginia’s individual vote won’t carry the same weight. The Founders created the Electoral College to prevent a few large cities from dominating national elections, but this move is seen as a sneaky Democratic power grab to bypass that system.“Every vote counts the same?" Well, not in Virginia if this happens.

That doesn’t seem like it should be legal. But, then again, when did that ever stop a Democrat.
