Herschel Walker mocks Obama over his resume, but this isn’t their first quarrel

(Crankers) Former President Obama’s comments on Georgia GOP Senate candidate Herschel Walker were fired back, as Obama recently said that being a good football player does not make him qualified to be a lawmaker. The former NFL running back, Walker, told “Fox & Friends’” Brian Kilmeade that he’s never met Obama, but if he had, it meant he was a celebrity “because all he did was hang out with celebrities.”

Walker said: “He forgot to tell people I created one of the largest minority-owned food service companies in the United States of America, so I do sign the front of a check, which he’s probably never done except when he was in the White House.” “I created businesses, I sit on a public traded board. So those are things I’ve done outside of football. Put my resume against his resume – I put it up any time of the day and I think I’ve done well,” added Walker.

At a Georgia rally, during a campaign stop for Walker’s opponent, Sen. Raphael Warnock (D), Obama said that while Walker had a commendable football career, that doesn’t translate into success in Congress. “Some of you may not remember, but Herschel Walker was a heck of a football player,” said Obama, according to The Hill. “But here’s the question: Does that make him the best person to represent you in the U.S. Senate? Does that make him equipped to weigh in on the critical decisions about our economy and our foreign policy and our future?” Obama added.

Walker was also asked by Kilmeade about how he is handling a spate of recent controversies surrounding his campaign, which include reports that the Republican nominee paid for several abortions for ex-partners but maintained a staunch anti-abortion position on the campaign trail.

Walker then answered to Kilmeade, saying: “I keep going forward.” “Right now, they’re going to try to throw everything at me. They spent almost $100 million so far against me. Right now, the race is virtually tied or I’m in the lead which shows that they don’t know how to spend their own money, so quit spending our money,” said Walker.

Some surfaced reports also say that Walker was the father of children who were not previously disclosed. But he and Warnock are running in one of the tightest races in the country, despite the controversies. Warnock and Walker are statistically tied at 45 percent, a new Atlanta Journal-Constitution-UGA poll published recently found. And who controls the upper chamber next year could be determined by the Georgia Senate race. The election could head to a runoff, if no clear winner is decided – which is how Warnock won the seat in 2020.

And don’t forget, Herschel Walker had choice words for Barack Obama before. As previously reported, Herschel Walker, a Georgia GOP Senate candidate, swung back at former President Barack Obama’s accusation that he is “a celebrity that wants to be a politician.” Walker argued that the former president doesn’t have sway with voters in the Peach State and “got with the wrong horse” by backing Democratic Sen. Raphael Warnock.

The comments by Walker come in the wake of the former president slamming the controversial candidate during a speech. Obama highlighted the GOP candidate’s multiple controversies, as he told the crowd that the former football star is “someone who carries around a phony badge and says he is in law enforcement like a kid playing cops and robbers” and alleging he has “issues of character.”

The former president was criticized by Walker, who noted that Obama did not win the state in 2008 or 2016, and referred to himself as “a warrior for God,” dismissing that he is a celebrity.

Here is what Walker said in a statement: “President Obama was here last night. He said I’m a celebrity. He got that one wrong, didn’t he? I’m not a celebrity. I’m a warrior for God. He got something else wrong, too. Remember two years ago he told us to vote for Joe Biden, didn’t he? He got that one wrong, did he not? He’s lost twice to Georgia already, hasn’t he, so I think he probably needs to sit this one out,” reported Washington Examiner.

“I’m sorry to tell former President Obama, I’m sorry, I’m gonna pray for him. I’m gonna pray for him because he needs some help. He needs some help because he got with the wrong horse. Senator Warnock is the wrong horse. You know he can’t do the job, and it’s time for him to leave. So don’t let the door hit your butt as you walk out of there,” Walker added.
