Donald Trump just confirmed that ICE is actively investigating Congresswoman Ilhan Omar for immigration fraud.
The president dropped the bombshell on Truth Social by sharing a story revealing that ICE refused to hand over documents related to a fraud probe into the Minnesota Democrat, as reported here. His post lit up the MAGA world like a fireworks show on the Fourth of July. Supporters were absolutely thrilled at the possibility that the controversial Squad member could actually face deportation.
Here is what we know so far. The outlet Just the News submitted a Freedom of Information Act request back in January 2026, seeking documents tied to the long-rumored probe into Omar. The allegations are wild. Omar is accused of falsifying her immigration paperwork when she came to America from Somalia, and she has been accused of marrying her own biological brother so he could remain in the country. She has denied that claim.
ICE responded to the FOIA request with a full denial. The agency cited a specific legal exemption, stating that releasing any records could reasonably interfere with ongoing enforcement proceedings. That particular exemption only kicks in when two conditions are met. There has to be a reasonable likelihood of a pending or planned law enforcement action, and releasing the information would need to cause identifiable harm to that action.
Translation? Something very real appears to be happening behind the scenes.
This lines up perfectly with what Border Czar Tom Homan previously told Newsmax host Rob Schmitt. Homan said he personally asked a fraud investigator about Omar's file, and the answer was crystal clear. He revealed that fraud was indeed found in her immigration records. He also mentioned that statute of limitations concerns became an issue during the previous administration when the matter first surfaced.
Homan went even further, saying his investigator, someone he described as one of the top fraud specialists at Homeland Security Investigations, told him there was absolutely no doubt about the findings after reviewing her file. Homan said he planned to continue running the matter down that very week.
Now think about what all of this means. A sitting United States Congresswoman is apparently under active federal investigation for lying on immigration documents. That is not just a slap on the wrist kind of offense. Providing false information on those forms is a serious felony. It can lead to having your citizenship stripped away entirely through a process called denaturalization. And after that comes deportation.
