An Ohio teacher lost her job after posting on social media about President Donald Trump following a shooting at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, which federal officials described as an attempted assassination. Corrine Baum, who taught young children at BrightPath Bridgetown Child Care Center, was fired after the school learned she had posted a message expressing disappointment that Trump was not hurt or killed.
Baum was responding to the shooting at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in Washington on Saturday night. According to the FBI, 31-year-old Cole Tomas Allen from California charged a security checkpoint carrying a shotgun, a handgun, and knives, and traded gunfire with law enforcement. Trump, the first lady, Vice President JD Vance, and many Cabinet members were in attendance at the dinner.
Baum said in her 20-second video: “There’s a few creators on here saying like Friday or yesterday could have been the day. And then I wake up to that news, but not THAT news...." Then she sighed really big... and said: "We’re going to have to pay really close attention to what they’re actually trying to distract us from.”
