As USA Journal reported, officers were called to the Malta Road address in Boston's Mattapan neighborhood just before 2 p.m. on July 18, where they found Ocasio with what appeared to be a gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead at the location.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner confirmed the homicide ruling on Thursday, which lined up with what Ocasio's mother had already suspected. She previously told Boston 25 News that she believed her daughter had been murdered. Tragically, that gut feeling turned out to be correct.
Now, before anyone starts connecting dots that don't exist, there is currently zero public indication linking Pressley, her husband, or anyone in their household to the circumstances surrounding Ocasio's death. Harris owns the property, which is a multi-family building, so let's keep our speculation hats in the closet for now. No arrests have been made and no suspects have been publicly identified. The investigation remains ongoing.
Oh, and about Harris. He does carry the distinction of being an ex-convict, which certainly adds a layer of awkwardness to this whole situation for a sitting member of Congress. The property itself had been listed on the market for a cool $1.15 million, because apparently Mattapan real estate is doing just fine.
