Philadelphia's top prosecutor told a crowd he wants a chunk of the White House ballroom "after we blow it up."
Larry Krasner, the George Soros-funded District Attorney of Philadelphia, apparently let his mouth sprint way ahead of whatever brain cell was supposed to be on duty. Standing before an audience this week, as USA Journal reported, Krasner mused about keeping a souvenir from the White House ballroom as a paperweight. You know, after somebody blows it to smithereens. Then, like a man watching his career flash before his eyes in real time, he scrambled to add the magic words: "In an official ceremony, just so we're clear." Nothing screams innocence like immediately clarifying you didn't just say what everyone heard you say.
This is the city's chief law enforcement officer, folks. The guy whose entire job revolves around knowing which words are crimes.
The cleanup attempt had its own problems. Krasner complained that taxpayers deserve their money back on the ballroom project. Small issue: the ballroom is privately funded. So the man fantasizing about demolishing federal property doesn't even know who paid for it. Solid research from a sitting DA.
But wait, there's more, because Larry Krasner is apparently running a buy one, get three free special on unhinged public statements. He also referred to ICE agents as "wannabe Nazis" and promised to "hunt you down the way they hunted down Nazis for decades." He then pledged to slap handcuffs on federal immigration officers and toss them in jail cells for doing their legally authorized jobs. He also informed them that the president cannot pardon them, which is a fascinating legal theory from someone who passed the bar exam.
Meanwhile, back in reality, Philadelphia continues to suffer one of the worst homicide rates among major American cities. Krasner's approach to that crisis has been to release violent offenders, refuse cooperation with federal immigration enforcement, and spend his public appearances sounding like a man who desperately needs someone to confiscate his microphone.
This is also the same DA who spent months ignoring a congressional subpoena from Rep. Jim Jordan of Ohio, eventually sending a lawyer instead of documents and calling the House Judiciary Committee investigation "baseless." Because nothing says "I respect the rule of law" like dodging subpoenas while simultaneously threatening to arrest federal agents.
George Soros has poured millions into district attorney races across the country, specifically to install prosecutors like Krasner. The result is a top prosecutor who spends more energy threatening federal law enforcement than prosecuting criminals in his own city.
Federal law takes a pretty dim view of public officials describing plans to demolish presidential facilities, even metaphorical ones. The Secret Service and FBI might want to have a conversation with Philly's favorite loose cannon. At minimum, someone should take the mic away before he confesses to something worse.
