MSNBC Puts Karoline Leavitt on Turkey Trip She Never Took

MSNBC placed Karoline Leavitt on a flight she was never on.

The network, which critics now mockingly call MS NOW, displayed an on-screen graphic during its coverage of President Trump's security situation in Turkey that listed Leavitt among White House personnel aboard Air Force One. The problem? She wasn't anywhere near Turkey. She never traveled on that trip. She was not on any aircraft connected to the incident. The network completely fabricated her involvement, according to reports.

Here's where it gets truly embarrassing. The network's own staff didn't flag the mistake. It took Maggie Haberman, a New York Times journalist appearing as a guest, to correct anchor Jacob Soboroff on live television when he mentioned Leavitt being stranded on the aircraft. Let that sink in. Haberman, who has never been accused of carrying water for Team Trump, had to play fact-checker for an entire cable news operation.

And what did MSNBC do afterward? According to NewsBusters journalist Curtis Houck, absolutely nothing. No correction. No apology. No acknowledgment on the network's official X account. The graphic was wrong, the anchor repeated the wrong information, and the whole segment built around Leavitt's supposed presence was baseless. Total radio silence.

Leavitt herself responded with just three words that cut right to the bone, calling it "More Fake News."

But wait, there's more. This wasn't even the only fabricated Leavitt story making rounds that same news cycle. Multiple outlets pushed the narrative that she had been fired from her press secretary role, when she had actually resigned voluntarily to be with her family following the birth of her second child. President Trump himself confirmed this, along with others who had direct knowledge of the situation.

So in a single day, the press managed to manufacture two entirely separate false narratives about the same person.

The Turkey security situation itself tells its own fascinating story. Secret Service agents moved Trump to a different plane after receiving credible intelligence about Iranian assassination threats. They transported him using a catering truck. The operation succeeded. Reporters were not given advance warning because, shockingly, that is how classified security operations function when a president's life is actively in danger.

The irony is thick enough to spread on toast. The very same media establishment that broadcast classified munitions information on CBS News just one week earlier suddenly demanded to be looped into real-time presidential security maneuvers during a live threat.

Leavitt exits her role having endured two bogus stories in a single news cycle. One put her on a continent she never visited. The other claimed she got canned when she chose to leave on her own terms. Throughout her entire tenure, she handled exactly this sort of media fabrication with remarkable composure and surgical precision.

She labeled it fake news. Based on everything that actually happened, she nailed it.
