Michele Tafoya Crushes GOP Rivals in Minnesota Senate Primary

Michele Tafoya just dominated the Republican Senate primary in Minnesota.

The beloved sports broadcaster absolutely demolished her opponents, including GOP-endorsed candidate Adam Schwarze and former NBA player Royce White, to clinch the nomination, as reported with data from the Associated Press. She now advances to the November general election, where she will try to take the seat currently held by Democratic Sen. Amy Klobuchar.

Washington Republicans were practically throwing confetti. They had backed Tafoya heavily, convinced that her celebrity status and broad appeal could transform this race into a genuine dogfight in deep blue territory.

And here is where things get truly wild. The last time any Republican captured a statewide contest in Minnesota was twenty years ago. If Tafoya pulls this off in November, she would literally be making history.

So what lit the fire under the famous broadcaster? In an earlier sit-down with Breitbart News, Tafoya painted a grim picture of her home state. She described Minnesota as being at a critical turning point, suffering from what she called a catastrophic collapse of leadership. She said career politicians currently holding office or seeking re-election were not going to rescue anyone, which pushed her to step into the ring herself.

Fraud has been the centerpiece of her campaign, and for good reason. Multiple massive schemes were exposed at the tail end of 2025, including bogus daycare operations allegedly run by members of the Somali community that siphoned millions from Medicaid through fake businesses. Tafoya torched the political establishment for allowing criminals to steal billions from hardworking taxpayers. She also went after outgoing Democratic Gov. Tim Walz, who is tangled up in his own fraud controversy.

Beyond rooting out corruption, Tafoya laid out a bread-and-butter economic agenda. She pledged to champion President Donald Trump's policy priorities while fighting to slash taxes, bring down grocery costs, reduce energy bills, and make rent and mortgages more manageable. Continuing the push to lower prescription drug prices is also near the top of her list.

But Tafoya is not just running against Democrats. She is sounding the alarm on what she sees as a growing socialist movement infiltrating primaries nationwide. Speaking to Fox News Digital after casting her ballot at a polling location in the Minneapolis suburbs, she vowed to combat what she called a dangerous lurch toward Democrat socialism, declaring flatly that socialism simply does not work.

Perhaps the savviest part of her strategy is the pitch to voters who do not typically pull the lever for Republicans. Tafoya positioned herself as the common sense option, extending an open invitation to frustrated Democrats who want accountability, safer streets, better schools, and an end to taxpayer fraud. She insisted her campaign represents far more than just conservative interests.

Whether a sports broadcasting legend can actually flip one of the bluest states in America remains the billion-dollar question heading into November. But one thing is certain, this race just got a whole lot more interesting for political junkies everywhere.
