The Democratic Party is tearing itself apart from the inside, and some of its most prominent voices are grabbing their coats and heading for the exits.
A full-blown internal war has erupted between moderate liberals and the hard-left socialist wing, and as Conservative Brief reported, longtime party loyalists are choosing to abandon ship rather than go along for the ride.
Former Jill Biden spokesman Michael LaRosa took to the X platform and absolutely torched his own side. He declared that he would never rally behind someone sporting an SS Totenkampf tattoo just because they carry a D beside their name, an apparent reference to former Maine Democratic Senate hopeful Graham Platner.
But LaRosa was far from finished. He then took aim at Michigan's Democratic Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed, a far-left figure with backing from the Democratic Socialists of America. LaRosa's criticism was deeply personal. He revealed that the mother of his closest friend perished during the September 11 attacks on the World Trade Center. She leaped from the 95th floor because the alternative was even more horrifying. Her only offense, LaRosa said, was going to work that particular morning.
LaRosa blasted El-Sayed for campaigning alongside surrogate Hasan Piker, who has publicly stated that America deserved the 9/11 attack. According to LaRosa, El-Sayed lacks the courage to confront that kind of extremism.
And it gets juicier. Veteran Democratic attorney Julian Epstein, a heavyweight who served as chief legal counsel for House Democrats during Bill Clinton's impeachment and later helped with Hillary Clinton's presidential bid, has gone even further. He publicly endorsed Republican Mike Rogers in Michigan's hotly contested Senate race.
In a New York Post opinion piece published Thursday and a subsequent Fox News Digital interview on Friday, Epstein described his decision as jumping ship entirely. His words were absolutely scorching.
Epstein declared that Democrats have completely lost the plot. He said the lunatics are now running the asylum. He argued there is zero space in the party's tent for those who want to shred the Constitution, cozy up to radical Islam, or align with antisemitism.
He also went after the party's economic direction, slamming those who only want to redistribute wealth that others built rather than creating prosperity for future generations. He called the free market the greatest poverty elimination engine humanity has ever produced.
Epstein predicted the party is racing toward a cliff and warned that a significant number of fellow Democrats will eventually follow him out the door. He praised Rogers as a practical, centrist guy who would have fit comfortably within the Clinton administration.
The longtime strategist admitted he has been sounding alarms about leftward drift for years. But now, he says, the party hasn't just abandoned pragmatic politics. It has lost its moral compass entirely.
