Laura Prepon is grieving the heartbreaking loss of her older brother, Brad Prepon, who passed away unexpectedly at just 48 years old from a heart condition nobody even knew he had. The beloved actress, best known for portraying Donna Pinciotti on the iconic sitcom, shared the gut-wrenching news in an emotional Instagram post that left fans and fellow celebrities absolutely stunned.

The 46 year old star, who also appeared on Orange Is the New Black and recently returned for That 90s Show, revealed on Wednesday that her brother was laid to rest over the previous weekend. She called his passing a "devastating shock" and described Brad as a "singular, beautiful, inimitable force" who left an incredible mark on everyone fortunate enough to cross his path.

"I will miss my brother every day, and carry him in my heart always," she wrote. Prepon also delivered a powerful plea to her followers, urging people to trust their gut when something feels physically wrong and to get themselves checked out by a doctor immediately.

According to his online obituary, Brad Prepon died on July 15 in Orange County, California. His funeral took place the following Saturday back in New Jersey, where he grew up. Born on April 19, 1978, in New York City, Brad was raised in Watchung, New Jersey, and graduated from Watchung Hills Regional High School in 1996. He later earned a college degree in history by 2000, where he also excelled as a remarkably talented tennis player.

Brad relocated to California in 2002, eventually settling in Costa Mesa. His passions ranged from physical fitness and detailed model building to a deep fascination with history, particularly World War II. His obituary painted the picture of someone who was equally at home tearing up a dance floor as he was getting lost in a good book.

The memorial described him as "an introspective and contemplative seeker" who balanced his magnetic social energy with a genuine love of knowledge and learning. When he committed to something, he went all the way. Those closest to him remembered his unmistakable presence, the kind that made people stop and take notice the moment he walked into a room.

The outpouring of love on Prepon's Instagram was immediate and overwhelming. Singer Amanda Palmer left a moving comment, saying Brad's heart truly shines through the photographs his sister posted. Actor Nicholas Gonzalez shared that he had enjoyed good times with Brad, calling him a "lovable guy." Jason Biggs, Chelsea Handler, and Questlove also chimed in with heartfelt condolences.

Brad Prepon's obituary noted that he cherished family gatherings, holiday traditions, quality time with his sisters, and nights out enjoying great food and music with friends. He is remembered as someone who forged his own unique path through life, and his absence will be felt deeply by everyone who loved him.
