FOX 2 Detroit anchor Kellie Rowe just announced she is walking away from the network after ten years.

The beloved Michigan State grad dropped the bombshell on her Facebook page, and it was not your typical corporate farewell. This was raw, personal, and surprisingly emotional. As reported, Rowe penned a lengthy post that went way beyond a simple resignation notice, offering fans a genuine window into where her head and heart are right now.

Rowe called FOX 2 her home since right after graduating from Michigan State University. She said she grew up there in every sense of the word, both on a professional and personal level. The woman did literally everything in that newsroom. Anchoring, sports, traffic, weather, reporting. You name it, she tackled it. She recalled covering Tigers Spring Training down in Florida and teaming up with Michigan Humane to spotlight adoptable dogs at the Auto Show, saying the memories were simply too many to list.

But here is where it gets really real. Rowe admitted this was not a simple career pivot. She said she has some healing that needs to happen. Her plan is to pump the brakes on life, reconnect with herself, and embrace something quieter. She confessed she has no clue what comes next but expressed deep gratitude for a support system giving her space to sort things out.

She also got philosophical about the pressure of appearing to have it all together, especially on social media. Rowe said she wants to meet the best version of herself and plans to document that journey publicly because she believes other people genuinely need to hear it. She noted that everyone is craving authenticity and real human connection more than ever.

Then came the thank yous. Rowe addressed her loyal viewers directly, expressing appreciation for letting her grow up right in front of them. She thanked fans for welcoming her into their living rooms, stopping her on the street, sharing their own stories, and being part of her mornings. She insisted she never once took any of it for granted and asked people to keep saying hello if they ever spot her out and about.

And because Rowe clearly knows how to make an exit, she left her followers with one hilarious final request. She told everyone to please keep bullying the Weather Boys while she is gone, adding that they really need it.

Her fans flooded the comments with love and support. One viewer recalled a moment when some critic complained about the sleeves on her dress, and Rowe proceeded to rock those same sleeves for multiple days straight. Another called her the brightest star on the morning broadcast. A third joked about who would anger the fashion police now that she is gone.

Rowe wrapped things up by saying FOX 2 shaped so much of who she is and called this not a goodbye but the start of her next adventure. Whatever that adventure turns out to be, her fans are clearly ready to follow along.
