In her lengthy post, Leavitt gushed about the wild ride. She called the entire experience "the honor and adventure of a lifetime" and said she took enormous pride in delivering the administration's message from behind that famous podium.
But here is where it gets interesting. She is not totally walking away from Trump World. Not even close. Leavitt confirmed that Trump personally asked her to stick around as a top outside advisor. She also pledged to remain a loud champion for MAGA and the Republican Party going forward. So do not expect her to fade into the background anytime soon.
Trump himself had broken the news on Truth Social earlier in the week, calling Leavitt "one of the best White House Press Secretaries in the History of the Office." He praised her work dating all the way back to 2018 and through his victorious 2024 campaign. He also made it clear that he completely understood and respected her decision to prioritize family.
Now the million dollar question remains. Who takes over the podium? As of right now, there has been zero indication from the White House about a successor. That vacuum is already fueling intense speculation behind the scenes.
Leavitt also has a two year old son, making her a mom of two tiny humans. Anyone who has juggled toddlers knows that alone is a full time gig, let alone doing it while fielding hostile questions from a ravenous press pool every single day.
