Fox News veteran John Roberts just dropped a bombshell on live television, and the political world is buzzing about it.
The co-anchor of "America Reports" revealed during a recent on-air conversation that his COVID-19 vaccinations triggered a serious cardiac condition, according to reports. Roberts told viewers he received a total of four COVID vaccine doses, and the fallout on his body was anything but minor.
Here is where it gets wild. After getting his third shot, commonly known as the first booster, Roberts says he came down with pericarditis. For those not fluent in medical jargon, that means the protective sac around his heart became inflamed. Chest pain, discomfort, the whole nightmare package.
The initial bout eventually cleared up. But then Roberts went ahead and got dose number four. That is when, in his own words, the condition "came roaring back again." He acknowledged on air that everyone's body handles these things differently, but the timing of his symptoms tells quite a story.
Now, to be fair, Roberts is no stranger to heart troubles. Back in early 2022, he had a procedure that included getting a pacemaker installed after a previously placed stent became blocked again. He joked publicly about becoming "battery powered" following the implantation and admitted he had not been feeling great for some time before that.
But wait, there is more. In subsequent updates over the years, Roberts has also talked about battling atrial fibrillation, which is an irregular heart rhythm that can be absolutely debilitating. In 2024, he revealed that he sought treatment at the prestigious Cleveland Clinic for what he called "the intractable AFib that has plagued me since that whole COVID thing." He later shared that he underwent an ablation procedure and reported zero further episodes over the following year.
Here is the twist that makes this whole saga even juicier. Roberts was not always skeptical about the vaccines. Not even close. Back in 2021, he was fully on board with getting jabbed. He even participated in a public service announcement encouraging other people to roll up their sleeves. After deleting a tweet that questioned long term vaccine efficacy following Colin Powell's passing from COVID complications, Roberts clarified that he was vaccinated and planned to get boosted.
He also mentioned at one point that he dealt with long COVID symptoms, which he cited as motivation for receiving a booster shot.
So let that sink in. A guy who publicly championed the vaccines, filmed PSAs promoting them, and voluntarily got four doses is now sitting on national television connecting those very shots to a cascade of cardiac problems that landed him with a pacemaker and repeated hospital visits.
Politics, medicine, and media colliding in the most dramatic fashion possible. You truly cannot make this stuff up.
