Jill Biden Admits Joe Is 'Gonna Die' From Cancer

Jill Biden says she is terrified of losing her husband to cancer.

The former first lady, 75, got brutally candid about Joe Biden's deteriorating health during a sit-down on the Jaime Kern Lima Show this week. The 46th president was diagnosed with grade group 5 prostate cancer last year, and the disease has now invaded his bones, according to reports. What Jill revealed about their daily reality is absolutely gut-wrenching.

"Of course I'm scared," she told the host. She pointed out that her husband is nearly a decade older than she is, and with a serious illness on top of that, she has to fight the urge to spiral into dark thoughts. "You kinda can't let your head go there," she said.

Then came the line that stopped everyone cold. Jill acknowledged that her husband will not survive this disease, and the couple has apparently made peace with that reality. "Joe has cancer. He's gonna die, so let's make the most of every moment," she said. She added that they are trying to fill their remaining time together with joy and positivity rather than letting the weight of his prognosis crush them. "How can you live with that every day? You can't. It's too heavy."

She called the former president "strong" and "resilient" but admitted he has never once expressed fear about his condition to her. That tracks, she explained, with how he has always handled adversity throughout their marriage. "He's always been the strength of our family," she said.

During a separate appearance on NBC's Today back on June 1, Jill offered a medical update, saying Joe was "doing okay" but that the cancer spreading into his bones "makes it a whole different story." She also delivered another sobering prediction, saying she believes her husband will carry this disease for the remainder of his life.

And it is not just Jill sounding the alarm. Hunter Biden sat down with the BBC on Friday and painted an even grimmer picture. The former president's son said the cancer has metastasized into his father's bones "and further," calling the situation "very painful" and "very debilitating."

Hunter appeared visibly emotional during the interview, nearly choking up as he described watching his father suffer. "The only thing that I'd say about my dad, about his health right now, is I wish he would complain more, because it's not good," he said. Despite all of that, Hunter insisted his father still "believes in this country" and remains the anchor of their entire family, calling him the "best father, the best husband, the best grandfather."

Let's not forget that Joe Biden's physical fitness was already a major question mark throughout his presidency. The speculation about whether he could handle another four years in office consumed Washington for months before he ultimately stepped aside. Looking at the timeline now, it seems pretty clear that a second full term would have been an incredibly difficult proposition.

Regardless of anyone's political leanings, watching a family navigate stage 4 cancer in the public eye is a sobering reminder that these political figures are human beings dealing with the same devastating realities as everyone else.
