Jared Moskowitz Destroys DSA Challenger by 27 Points

Jared Moskowitz just obliterated his socialist opponent by a jaw-dropping 27-point margin.

The Florida congressman steamrolled DSA-backed challenger Oliver Larkin in the FL-25 Democratic primary, capturing 63 percent of the vote to Larkin's measly 36 percent, according to reports. Decision Desk HQ officially projected the blowout at 7:08 PM EDT on August 18, 2026. This wasn't even remotely competitive. Streamer and political commentator Hasan Piker had personally poured energy and fundraising muscle into Larkin's campaign. It did not matter one bit.

But the real showstopper? Moskowitz's post-victory message aimed directly at Piker consisted of just two glorious words: "My condolences." That is the kind of political mic drop that belongs in a hall of fame somewhere.

His full victory statement was equally spicy. Moskowitz declared that the DSA threw everything they had at him, and he never wavered on his beliefs or identity. He said voters overwhelmingly picked his independent-minded approach to serving in Congress. No hedging, no diplomatic niceties, just pure confidence.

Now here is what makes this result so fascinating. The DSA actually had a phenomenal night in other parts of the country on the very same Tuesday. Donavan McKinney knocked off a Hakeem Jeffries-endorsed incumbent over in Detroit. Another Piker-supported socialist toppled a sitting congressman in a Detroit suburb. Abdul El-Sayed squeaked out a one-point win in Michigan's Senate primary against establishment opposition.

So the socialist wing was racking up victories left and right. Florida, however, told them to take a hike.

What separated Moskowitz from the incumbents who got bounced? The man simply refused to bend. He kept supporting Israel without apology. He took AIPAC contributions without flinching. He vocally condemned what he described as antisemitic hatred creeping into his own party. While other Democrats were doing political calculus about which side to appease, Moskowitz planted his flag and basically invited the challenge.

They accepted that invitation. He buried them by 27 points.

The broader takeaway here is revealing. The DSA's playbook works beautifully in heavily progressive urban areas where their activist base makes up a significant portion of primary voters. It falls apart in districts with sizable Jewish populations, more ideologically diverse electorates, or incumbents who actually punch back instead of trying to make nice.

Moskowitz punched back. Hard.

The congressman is not out of the woods yet, though. He now squares off against Republican Scott Singer in a general election, running in a redrawn district that the GOP specifically redesigned to take him out. Beating the socialists was round one. Singer represents an entirely different battle.

Still, Tuesday served up a crystal clear reminder. When Democratic incumbents actually stand their ground against the far-left flank rather than folding like cheap lawn chairs, voters tend to reward that backbone. The problem, according to observers, is that most elected Democrats simply lack the nerve to do what Moskowitz did.

And that is precisely why the DSA keeps picking off the weak ones.
