Trump just casually revealed Iran's new Supreme Leader got obliterated on his left side during a U.S. military operation.
Mojtaba Khamenei took over as Iran's top cleric after his father was killed in Operation Epic Fury back in February. Nobody has laid eyes on the guy in public since. Not once. Not even at his own dad's funeral. The Atlantic floated a report this week suggesting the new Ayatollah might actually be deceased or "brain dead." Trump, chatting it up on Glenn Beck's show Wednesday, offered a different take with some suspiciously detailed knowledge, as reported by USA Journal.
"He was very seriously wounded. The left side of his body, the arm, the leg, the whole thing," Trump said. That is a remarkably specific medical briefing for a guy who supposedly has no idea what happened. Then came the kicker on why Trump thinks Khamenei is still breathing: Iranian officials keep running back to him for "a final blessing on things." So either he is alive, or they have propped up the most committed Weekend at Bernie's operation in geopolitical history.
Think about that for a second. A man assumes the most powerful religious position in Iran, and his grand public appearance count since then is a fat zero. The regime that perfected the art of hiding sick leaders from its own citizens is clearly running that playbook at full speed. Admitting the Supreme Leader is a vegetable would create a power vacuum so massive it could swallow the entire Islamic Republic.
Trump also described Iranian negotiators as "not the most honorable group," which is like calling a forest fire "a bit warm." These are the folks who signed a ceasefire agreement in June and then immediately started harassing commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz again. They want peace and violence simultaneously, like ordering a salad with a side of cheeseburger.
Meanwhile, Treasury Secretary Bessent rolled out something called Operation Economic Outcast on Monday. This sanctions package goes after five of Iran's financial jugular veins: digital assets, technology, gold, aviation, and shipping. Any company on planet Earth caught helping Iran launder money gets booted from the U.S. dollar system. That is the financial equivalent of getting uninvited from every party on the planet.
Trump wrapped things up with a prediction: "We're going to have a big victory here very soon." Before you dismiss that as bluster, consider the receipts. He said Iran's nuclear program would be destroyed. Done. He said the Strait of Hormuz would get cleared of mines. Done. He announced Economic D-Day would be historically crushing. It launched right on schedule.
So whether Khamenei is genuinely alive, technically alive, or starring in the most elaborate puppet show since Sesame Street, his regime is getting squeezed from every conceivable direction. Naval blockade, expanding sanctions, total economic isolation. The man who might be running Iran cannot even show his face in public. That is not a position of strength. That is a regime holding its breath and hoping nobody notices the Supreme Leader shaped hole in every photo op.
