Dr. Anthony Fauci is heading back to Capitol Hill on Wednesday to sit across from Senator Rand Paul, and boy oh boy, this one promises to be spicier than a gas station burrito. As USA Journal reported, if the good doctor decides to fib under oath again, perjury charges could actually be on the table this time. Paul has apparently been doing his homework, and he brought receipts in diary form.
So here is where things get absolutely wild. RFK Jr. went on Fox News Monday evening and dropped some bombshells courtesy of Fauci's own personal diary entries, which Paul had released. Remember that very public vaccine photo op back in January 2021? Cameras everywhere, sleeves up, the whole "look at me being brave" routine? Well, five months after that performance, Fauci apparently suffered a pulmonary infarction. That is a blood clot in the lung, for those keeping score at home. And wouldn't you know it, that particular problem was literally listed by the NIH, CDC, and FDA as a known adverse event from the vaccine.
Did he tell the public? Nope. He quietly got treated by top tier private physicians and then went right back on television telling regular Americans that their similar concerns were basically fairy tales. Meanwhile, ordinary people who reported comparable issues after getting vaccinated were called conspiracy theorists, had their social media accounts nuked, and were generally treated like they had suggested the earth was flat.
RFK Jr. did not hold back either, rattling off a greatest hits collection of alleged Fauci falsehoods covering everything from masks to social distancing to natural immunity to whether the vaccine could actually prevent infection. The diary revelation just fits perfectly into what Kennedy described as a pattern of serial dishonesty.
But wait, there is more. The diary entries also reveal that Fauci apparently wrote about being the most famous and talked about person in the entire country. While kids were falling behind in school, small businesses were going bankrupt, and people were losing jobs over vaccine mandates he championed, "America's Doctor" was busy journaling about his own celebrity status. Kennedy characterized him as someone obsessed with self promotion and television appearances rather than actual public health outcomes.
And speaking of outcomes, here is a fun statistic. Under Fauci's guidance, the United States managed to rack up the highest COVID mortality rate on the planet, roughly 3,000 deaths per million people. The richest country with the fanciest medical infrastructure somehow performed worse than every other nation. That is quite the legacy.
Now about that pardon. Joe Biden gave Fauci a preemptive pardon during the final hours of his presidency, but some legal scholars argue those kinds of pardons might not actually hold up since Fauci was never convicted or even charged with anything. Some experts believe that if the Supreme Court ever struck down preemptive pardons, Fauci and others could potentially face charges.
So Wednesday should be fascinating television. The man who allegedly concealed his own vaccine injury while dismissing everyone else's gets to answer questions under oath before the United States Senate. Somebody make popcorn.
