A family in Illinois went viral after posting a video of themselves being asked to leave a restaurant due to a complaint from another customer who claimed they smelled like marijuana.
They accused the establishment of discrimination based on how they were treated, but they ignored the fact that they apparently smelled so bad that other people were complaining. It's not discrimination if you smell like trash.
In the clip, an employee told them the alleged marijuana odor was considered “offensive” and they couldn’t be allowed inside.
The woman filming disagreed and commented on the employee’s red hair, saying it wasn’t professional for the restaurant either. The family returned their menus and got up to leave, with the employee apologizing as they exited.
Most viewers who saw the video sided with the restaurant, arguing businesses have the right to respond to customer complaints and set their own standards for odors. In other words, if you smell like sh*t, then get out.
