DHS Brands Boston Mayor Michelle Wu "Pro-Criminal" Over ICE Parking Fight

The Department of Homeland Security just labeled Boston Mayor Michelle Wu "pro-criminal" in a scorching public takedown.

The explosive clash erupted after Wu vowed to use public records requests to identify private property owners willing to lease parking spaces to ICE in her sanctuary city. DHS fired back on X, accusing the Democratic mayor of "trying to intimidate Bostonians" and declared she has "ZERO authority to block ICE from utilizing private property," as reported here.

So how did we get to this point? It all kicked off when ICE posted a nationwide solicitation looking for property owners who could provide parking spaces near current or planned facilities. In Boston specifically, the agency needs 249 contiguous spots. Pretty standard government real estate stuff, right? Not in Wu's Boston.

The mayor announced that her office plans to file FOIA requests to uncover which local property owners responded to ICE's solicitation. "We as a city will be filing another FOIA request for any responses that have come in from the Boston area so that we know what information they may be sifting through," Wu stated.

Here is where it gets really interesting. Wu herself admitted that Boston has absolutely no legal power to stop private property owners from letting ICE use their parking lots. She conceded that point openly. But she still pushed forward, arguing that cooperating with federal immigration enforcement is not "a way to make our community safer." She also pointed to a recent incident in Maine where an ICE officer fatally shot an undocumented immigrant.

DHS was having none of it. The agency blasted Wu for what they called "shamelessly" comparing ICE agents to a neo-Nazi organization. They insisted that private citizens who want federal law enforcement on their own property should never face threats from their mayor.

Then ERO Boston, the local immigration enforcement branch, dropped the mic. They responded to Wu's stance by highlighting the recent arrest of Martin Carias Reyes, an immigrant from Honduras with an absolutely horrifying criminal record. According to their post, Reyes had been charged with statutory rape, multiple prior arrests involving the rape of a child, indecent assault, and battery on a child younger than 14.

That detail hit hard. Commenters on social media overwhelmingly sided with ICE on this one. "When will it end with these disgusting pieces of garbage? Get them ALL out of here!" one user wrote. Another took a direct shot at Wu, writing, "Let's see if Wu will put her own kids at risk and hire him as a babysitter. Or is it just more rules for thee but not for me?"

A third commenter praised the agency's work, writing, "ICE is doing God's work. Thank you to all working for the American people."

So let's recap the situation. A mayor with zero legal authority to stop private landlords from working with federal agents is now launching government investigations to publicly identify those who cooperate. Meanwhile, ICE is out here catching alleged child predators. The optics on this one are absolutely brutal for Wu, and DHS clearly knows it.
