On July 30, 2026, thousands of migrants crossed into the Spanish North African enclave of Ceuta, overwhelming security in a scene reminiscent of the May 2021 crisis when about 10,000 people arrived.
Groups of mostly men swam, climbed fences, and walked around coastal barriers from Morocco to break into Ceuta, with no action from Moroccan border forces.
Officials and activists said the surge came after a Spanish Supreme Court ruling on border returns and was fueled by people-smuggling networks using social media to encourage migration near Fnideq.
Ceuta’s leader, Juan Jesus Vivas, called on Madrid to declare a national emergency and asked for army support as migrant centers and security staff were pushed to their limits, and the people of Cueta do NOT want any of the migrants in their city.
It's probably 99% grown males breaking in, as most of the videos showed no women or children. This is not families looking for a better life, these people are criminals breaking into a country.
Some of the criminals are already breaking into people's homes, climbing ladders and smashing windows.
