It was a somber day for the family of Sgt. Michael Swinton, a Fort Bragg soldier who lost his life in the Middle East in July. His body arrived at Fayetteville Regional Airport on Monday, with his funeral planned for Saturday at Southview Baptist Church. Sgt.
Swinton, 30, died on July 19 while handling a downed Iranian drone in Iraq.
He was honored with a water cannon salute, and several groups gathered to pay their respects before leading a procession to Hope Mills, joined by his mother and wife.
