A shootout happened in the food court section of the Haywood Mall, in South Carolina, and shoppers ran for their lives, hiding in stores or wherever they could take cover. Arrests have been made. Two people were reportedly shot.

Police say two people are wounded, and multiple people are in custody following a report of shots fired at a South Carolina mall on Saturday afternoon.

The Greenville Police Department said the first call of gunfire at the Haywood Mall came in around 1 p.m. Police said two people were shot and taken to the hospital. No details were available on their custody at the time.

Police said multiple people were in custody, that the scene was still active but contained, and that there was no danger to the public.
