AOC Tries to Gatekeep Democracy, Gets Wrecked by AIPAC

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez apparently decided she's the official bouncer of the Democratic Party this week, and spoiler alert, it did not go well for her. As USA Journal reported, AIPAC announced on Wednesday that they planned to financially support Republican Mike Rogers in the Michigan Senate contest, specifically to counter Abdul El-Sayed, the DSA socialist who clinched the Democratic primary. The group also noted their disappointment that Rep. Haley Stevens, a candidate they had previously backed, lost her primary bid. They congratulated other Democrats they supported who won. You know, totally normal political stuff done completely out in the open.

AOC's reaction? She proclaimed that AIPAC had effectively proven it has no place in the Democratic Party or its primaries. She threw around accusations about them "undermining democracy at home and abroad." Bold words from someone whose preferred political organization literally wants to abolish the Senate, defund the Pentagon, and eliminate national borders. But sure, the real menace to democracy is a lobbying group writing checks.

AIPAC then responded with what can only be described as one of the most surgical public takedowns of a sitting congressperson in recent memory. The highlight reel quote pointed out that AOC's version of a "big tent" party apparently has plenty of room for people who claim America had September 11th coming, but zero space for Jewish Americans who think Israel should continue existing. That's not a great look for someone who fancies herself a champion of inclusivity.

Let's talk about the candidate AOC is effectively defending here. El-Sayed has publicly stated that Israel lacks a right to exist. The DSA platform he runs on is essentially a greatest hits album of fringe left positions. And the organization's co-chair, Ashik Siddique, confirmed on live television in July 2026 that their ultimate goal is, wait for it, communism. When pressed on the statement, Siddique pivoted to some boilerplate about having a "big tent" of ordinary people. Nothing says ordinary like yearning for collective ownership of the means of production.

AOC proudly wears the DSA label and shares its most extreme positions, yet somehow Jewish Americans spending money on candidates who share their values is where she draws the line on acceptable political participation. The irony is thick enough to spread on toast.

There's another layer of comedic gold here that AOC will never willingly discuss. She has reportedly been photographed addressing all-male audiences in settings where women were segregated. She receives support from groups whose ideology explicitly oppresses women, all while branding herself as a fierce advocate for women's rights. Supporting movements that would sooner put you in a hijab than a cabinet position is a fascinating way to champion feminism.

AIPAC has funded Democratic candidates for literally decades. They operate within every legal framework governing political participation in this country. They have every right to oppose candidates who question their community's right to exist. AOC can scream into the void all she wants, but she doesn't get to decide who participates in American democracy, especially when her own political allies are busy trying to dismantle it from the inside.
