Grummz on X reported: Sony to layoff half of Bungie.The French journalist who called the Xbox layoff is now saying that Bungie will be halved due to poor performance of Marathon.The studio is approx. 800 people, that would whittle the team size down to 400.
This is great news. As a gamer who's been with Bungie since the Halo days, playing pvp on XbConnect before Xbox Live even came out, and then a Destiny 1 day one gamer until now - it's refreshing to see Sony get rid of all the waste at Bungie.
Bungie was a game of the year caliber developer who later released Destiny 1 and everyone loved it, but then they started acting really stupid, egotistical, narcissistic, and refused to listen to real gamers. Bungie focused on removing anything that was fun, nerfing everything, ignoring pvp, putting non-stop gay stuff in the game, always grifting people for paid cosmetics which are totally useless and not even caring about the true quality of their game and the fun people SHOULD be having.
Heck, Bungie couldn't even be bothered to let Sparrow Racing return even tho people wanted it ALL THE TIME. Nor would they give us a forge to just make our own content out of the vast planets.
It's a mess at Bungie.
Then Bungie decided, wrongly and stupidly, that Marathon was worth wasting money on instead of Destiny 3. Everyone wanted Destiny 3 even with the flaws that it would come with... worthless and useless cosmetics and maybe another gay and hideous characters like Nimbus.
But Bungie stopped caring about what gamers think. They refuse the read the room because they are so full of themselves and it feels like they don't even play their own game.
Pretty much NO ONE WANTED MARATHON. It's a bad extraction game with a horrible neon-virus graphic eyesore and a ridiculously bad user interface. Oh, and did I mention it's extraction. It's a small nice game that pretty much sucks.
Bungie could've put extraction in Destiny as a game mode. But no, they wasted an entire budget developing it and it's a waste of time. Marathon mortally sucks ass.
So I'm glad Sony is gutting the company. Bungie deserves to eat sh*t and rot for the gayness they've become.
Get back to your roots, Bungie, or end up in the gutter with other failing developers.
