As Donald Trump sits around for the hush money trial and Stormy Daniels gets destroyed by lawyers during her testimony, it’s important to look back to 2022 where she was taking a loss in court and Trump actually won for a change. Here’s what we reported back then, if it means anything to you now. I know some folks forgot about this, but it’s important to remind folks so they have the full picture of just how insane this nonsense really is.
Stormy Daniels, real identity Stephanie Clifford, has been ordered to make a payment to Donald Trump, the former president of the United States almost $300,000 in legal expenses, according to a federal appeals court ruling. According to CNBC, the 9th Appeals Court “ruled which had no jurisdiction over Daniels’ appeal of the attorneys’ costs issue because she failed to file a notice of appeal within a 30-day period of a federal court awarded the costs to Trump.”
“The appeals court also ruled that the same judge had appropriately imposed another $1,000 in fines against Daniels in the same decision that paid Trump attorneys’ fees,” according to the press release. “Daniels owes Trump $292k in attorney fees,” Dhillon told reporter Meghann Cuniff, adding that the action was “pushed so vigorously by [Michael] Avenatti for motives that obviously did not benefit his client.” Daniels’ advocate, Clark Brewster, issued a statement in response to the judgment, claiming that his client’s former counsel, Michael Avenatti, contributed to the case’s failure by “failing to prepare a timely appeal in January of 2019” per report.
Daniels brought a libel action against Trump in 2018 when he tweeted a drawing of her claimed intimidator with a photo of her ex-husband that she helped produce. “A drawing years later about a nonexistent individual,” Trump captioned the side-by-side photographs supplied by another Twitter user.
“Playing the Fake News Media for Fools (but they’re aware of it)!” Daniels said that Trump slandered her as a liar in a tweet, damaging her reputation, and rejected their alleged 2006 romance.
“The 9th Controller just decided to issue a final ruling in Stephanie Clifford’s (popularly known Daniels Stormy) defamation suit situation against myself carried by her discredited litigator, Avenatti Michael, underpinning the judge’s decision that she pays me nearly $300,000 in attorney fees, costs, and sanctions (not including appeal costs),” according to the statement.
