(Crankers) President Donald Trump has been officially nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize of 2021. The nomination comes from a member of the Norwegian Parliament named Christian Tybring-Gjedde. The nomination is related to President Trump’s efforts in helping with a peace deal between Arab nations of the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain and Israel.

Tybring-Gjedde has spent four terms as a member of the Parliament. He is also a chairman of the Norwegian delagation to NATO’s Parliamentary Assembly.

Tybring-Gjedde made a statement about President Trump during an interview with Fox News , saying “For his merit, I think he has done more trying to create peace between nations than most other Peace Prize nominees.”

His nomination of President Trump came in the form of a letter to the Nobel Committee and spoke highly of how Trump and his administration worked with the relations between UAE and Israel, in hopes to broker a peace deal, and also working to resolve conflicts between others such as South and North Korea, and India and Pakistan.

Trump was also praised in the nomination letter for having a big number of American troops withdrawn from the Middle East. It was stated, in the letter, that “Trump has broken a 39-year-old streak of American Presidents either starting a war or bringing the United States into an international armed conflict. The last president to avoid doing so was Peace Prize laureate Jimmy Carter.”

Tybring-Gjedde made another statement, saying he’s not a “big Trump supporter” and that the committee should look and judge President Trump on the facts, and “not on the way he behaves sometimes. The people who have received the Peace Prize in recent years have done much less than Donald Trump. For example, Barack Obama did nothing.

Many fans of President Trump have called for him to be nominated due to his work on conflict resolution, despite his brash and constant use of Twitter.
