Trump says Buttigieg Rides “to Work on a Bicycle with his Husband on the Back”

(Crankers) Washington, D.C. — Former President Donald Trump ignited a firestorm of controversy this week with pointed remarks aimed at former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, questioning his qualifications and mocking his personal life during a press conference in the Oval Office.

Responding to questions about ongoing air traffic control issues, Trump deflected blame and instead targeted Buttigieg, who served as Secretary of Transportation during the Biden administration until January 2025.

“You know, he drives to work on his bicycle, with his husband on the back, which is a nice, loving relationship,” Trump said with a smirk. “But he didn’t have a clue,” as reported .

The comments, which referenced Buttigieg’s same-sex marriage in a disparaging tone, were swiftly condemned by civil rights advocates and Democratic leaders, who labeled them homophobic and irrelevant to the discussion on transportation infrastructure. However, most other people found themselves responding on social media with laughter or humorous memes and emojis.

Though Buttigieg stepped down earlier this year, Trump appeared to blame him for the current challenges facing the Federal Aviation Administration. Critics, however, argue that the Trump administration now bears responsibility for any unresolved issues. Except, Trump has only been in office for just over 100 days, so it’s not realistic to believe he can accomplish everything in a short amount of time.
