Trainee surgeon accused of secretly recording 460 female workers in hospital bathrooms

(Crankers) A surgeon in training was released on bail after he was accused of secretly recording videos of female colleagues in hospital bathrooms. Ryan Cho, 28, could face hundreds of charged connected to the 4,500 videos he’s accused of recording. He’s accused of recording at least 460 women.

The news reports that most of the videos were of staff members across three different hospitals located in Melbourne, Australia. The secret recordings took place dating back to 2021.

Justice James Elliot said Cho could be released from jail IF he lives with his parents. The parents moved to Australia from Singapore after Cho spent about a month in prison already. The parents had to pay around $32,000 to get him out of jail.

But Cho didn’t get out so easy. A prosecutor said now that he has no legitimate ties to the hospitals, that there’s a chance Cho flees the country. He’s technically an Australian citizen now, so deportation is on the table if he gets more than 12 months in prison – if found guilty, that is.

The judge responded by suggesting that Cho no longer has a Singapore passport, nor any connections that would help him leave Australia in an illegal way. Except, it’s not entirely possible for a judge to know who Cho can get in contact with.
