(Crankers) MILWAUKEE, WI — Republican John Kasich, a former governor of Ohio, is expected to speak on behalf of top Democratic candidate, Joe Biden, at the Democratic National Convention. The convention takes place from August 17 to the 20th, but it is not yet known what day or time Kasich will speak. This is where the Democrats will officially decide their candidate for presidency, with Joe Biden being the presumptive candidate leading to that date.

This is to take place next month “according to a person with direct knowledge of the plans who insisted on anonymity to discuss strategy. Kasich is among a handful of high-profile Republicans likely to become more active in supporting Biden in the fall.” (Dispatch )

Kasich is a longtime Trump critic. A recent report said “Already, multiple political action committees have been set up seeking to either topple Trump and Republicans in Congress or pump up his opponent, Democratic former Vice President Joe Biden. Two of those groups have deep ties to Kasich, though both said the governor is not involved in any way.” (Cleveland) They might be connected to Kasich by means of a friendship or ally, but he suggests that he’s not actually involved in the operations of said political action groups, or, groups in general.

Trump, on the other hand, has approximately $146 million set aside for advertising on television this fall. He also has a $36.3 million investment to put into campaign efforts in Florida. His next biggest state with money set aside for campaign advertising is Ohio, with about $18.4 million for there.

Biden, in comparison, does not appear to have any reserved advertising funds for the fall, but has raised over $500 million. Trump has nearly doubled that amount.

Based on a report from NPR, Trump has raised $996 million from 2017 until May 2020. Biden has raised $557 million during the same time frame.
