Don Lemon may end up regretting the interview with Elon Musk after all these clips come out. This video shows Don Lemon proving he's incapable of very simple concepts, particularly around freedom of speech. Don Lemon tries getting Elon Musk on a gotcha moment, but ends up getting GOT himself.
Don questions Elon about speech that's on the X platform, some of it not so nice. But Elon responds by telling him they remove any speech or ideas that are deemed illegal. Elon asks Don if the speech, whether he likes it or not, is illegal? Don suggests the answer is no. There's Don's answer.
Freedom of speech means everyone has a right to say things, even if some people don't like them. Freedom of speech also includes mean tweets – so if someone says something that's a little on edge or insulting, that's OK too because it's not illegal to say something mean. Of course, people would rather have a positive experience on the platform and be surrounded by nicer things – but Elon Musk and X are not going to delete mean tweets because they hurt someone's feelings. This isn't how reality works. This isn't how freedom of speech works. This isn't how the real world works.
If you need a safe space, then get off the Internet. Don Lemon should rethink his next interview, because it seems like he's either an idiot or he just isn't good at this. Maybe he was a DEI hire before it was cool!
