(Crankers) A panel on CNN sounded stunned when they found out that some people on social media believe a man with 14 arrests should be locked away for a very long time – if not life.
That man in question is murderer Decarlos Brown Jr. who stabbed Iryna Zarutska, a young Ukrainian refugee on a train, for no apparent reason, leaving her to bleed to death. Had Brown been locked up, for any length of time after 14 arrests, then her murder might have been prevented.
Abby Phillips said: “He did actually serve time… He should have been locked away for life?”
Keith Boykin: “You don’t lock people up for schizophrenia.”
Kat Abughazaleh: “I use public transit constantly… people shouldn’t be locked away for mental illness…”
Commentator Collin Rugg said in response, on social media: “They’re purposely being obtuse and latching onto her “schizophrenia” comment (and ignoring the fact he was arrested 14 times) because they have no argument. They want to protect the violent criminals and not the innocent law-abiding people.”
