(Crankers) Actress Leslie Jones doesn’t know why a man wouldn’t want a woman like her.
I’ll tell you in just a few words. You helped ruin Ghostbusters.
Other than that, Leslie Jones is perfectly fine, but I’m not going to forget what she and the others did to the Ghostbusters brand.
The Ghostbusters was not a brand to mess with. We had historic levels of stardom in the original movies and no one ever asked for, nor wanted, a female reboot.
Let me just point out the big names in the first movie:
Bill Murray
Harold Ramis
Dan Akroyd
Ernie Hudson
Sigourney Weaver
Rick Moranis
Casey Kasem
Larry King
And then you want to do a ridiculous woke version just to appease feminists and think it’s going to work? Wait a minute, let’s give it a chance. Let me see the cast of the Ghostbusters, the chick version:
Melissa McCarthy
Leslie Jones
Kristen Wiig
Kate McKinnon
I’m stopping here because the rest of the cast can’t carry these four goombas enough to make the movie watchable.
Kate is pretty good, but Melissa McCarthy is blah, Leslie Jones is quite frankly hard to look at, and I don’t even know what Kristen Wiig brings to the table.
There was no need to make this movie.
So there, Leslie Jones, that’s why we don’t want to date you. We hate the Ghostbusters chick reboot and we won’t let you gals off the hook for f*cking up a perfectly fine name.
Want to know how bad the Ghostbusters female reboot was?
The movie is a box-office disappointment.
Budget: $144 million
Marketing: Estimated additional $100 million+
Worldwide box office: $229 million
Sony later confirmed they took a loss of about $70 million. Studios typically need ~2.5× the production budget to break even, this one didn’t come close.
Then there was the trailer that ruined it from the start. The first trailer became one of YouTube’s most-disliked movie trailers of all time. Pair that with the “if you don’t like it, then you’re sexist” style of marketing and you have the ultimate disaster.
So yeah, I’m sexist because I think a terrible cast should never reboot a classic movie. No. This is common sense.
And this is why we won’t date Leslie Jones or any of the main actresses from that movie. You ruined something great, now imagine what a first date would be like. No thanks.
Here’s Leslie Jones on video wondering why guys won’t want to date her:
