Google faces backlash over man in women’s clothes ad

(Crankers) It’s not clear what the marketing people at Google were thinking, but they may have just ‘Bud Lite’ed’ themselves with this one. They sponsored an ad featuring a man in women’s clothes and the response from people on social media seems to be mostly disgust.

After watching Bud Lite lose tons of money from featuring a similar thing, then seeing Jaguar ruin it’s entire brand with one video – it doesn’t make sense for companies to continue pushing this anti-woman agenda down people’s throats.

The majority sentiment towards this type of content is that people are sick and tired of seeing it. People don’t want their kids seeing it. And it’s overall bad for society to promote men wearing women’s clothing, as it could likely suggest that people are normalizing the mentally disturbed. See the video below and judge for yourselves:

Does anyone else think that maybe we’re missing the point of ads like these? What if it’s about being more inclusive? Just asking.

Saw this ad and all I could think was, oh great, another company trying to be edgy. So over it.

I believe the essence of this debate should pivot to our understanding and acceptance of diverse expressions of identity. What truly is the harm in allowing individuals to express themselves, irrespective of societal norms?

Watched the ad, and all I can say is, my man rocks those heels better than I ever could. Got to give credit where it’s due!

This is just too much for me. I miss the days when ads were simple and straightforward. Why does everything have to make a statement now?

  6. LizzyQ on December 13, 2024 1:09 pm

Isn’t it better they’re trying something new than just the same old ads all the time?

  7. Philosopher_King on December 13, 2024 3:44 pm

In evaluating the impact of such advertisements, one must consult empirical evidence concerning their effect on societal norms and individual psychology. Without such data, judgements remain speculative.
