Hochul said subways are safer hours after woman was lit on fire in her sleep

(Crankers) NY Governor Kathy Hochul may want to read the room after this one. Hochul was seen in a video, posted to X, saying how she’s made the subway system safer in New York City – but this was hours after a migrant allegedly set a woman on fire while she was sleeping, then sat there and watched her burn to death – also allegedly.

The horrifying incident was on video and the man who was sitting there watching the woman burn was arrested. Reports say he’s a migrant from Guatemala. You can watch the woman lit on fire on the subway video on this link , as we won’t post it on this website due to its graphic nature.

Hochul said in her video that crime went down on the subway because she put the National Guard in action, except her safety measures didn’t stop the migrant from allegedly burning a woman to death right on the subway itself.

Hochul said on X: “In March, I took action to make our subways safer for the millions of people who take the trains each day… Since deploying the @NationalGuardNY to support @NYPDnews and @MTA safety efforts and adding cameras to all subway cars, crime is going down, and ridership is going up.”

Hochul posted her statement about subway safety about eight hours after the migrant had already lit the woman on fire and it was reported all over social media. There was no reason that Hochul should not have known this happened. It was like she posted it and didn’t even check the news of the day, because headlines about the woman lit on fire were all over the place. You can watch Hochul’s video here.

The New York Daily News was slammed just as bad for having a very misleading headline about the sad story. They said on X: “Woman dies after she catches fire in Brooklyn subway car; NYPD suspects homicide.”

It’s as if the woman just spontaneously combusted. The author of that post should have been clearer and let readers know that the woman was lit on fire when she was sleeping.
