A Chicago judge is releasing a Venezuelan migrant felon who was captured during a Tom Homan ICE raid.
“Federal prosecutors say Martinez Sarmino crossed the border illegally in western Texas in 2023 and made his way to the Chicago area.”
“Cook County court records show Chicago police arrested Edward Martinez Sermino for a felony retail theft in January 2024, and he failed to appear for court triggering a warrant for his arrest.”
“Edward Martinez-Sermeno will have spent roughly 48 hours in federal custody. The judge ordered him released, saying that ICE did not have the proper judicial warrant to detain him. — he hasn't entered a plea to the felony charge.”
