Guy who helped expose child predators on Roblox gets surprise from company

The guy who helped catch child predators on a popular video game, Roblox, has been banned and threatened by the company. You'd think they would thank him for helping to remove the creepy people, but nope. He got a cease and desist instead! Dexerto reported:

The 22-year-old Roblox YouTuber boasts over 600,000 subscribers, and has personally claimed that his work over the past year helped lead to six arrests. Roblox’s letter accused him of “simulated child endangerment conversations”, “sharing or soliciting personally identifiable information”, and “encouraging users to move conversations off-platform.” The company said his methods bypassed safety systems and increased risks to users.

Schlep denied wrongdoing, explaining that decoys in predator-catching investigations avoid initiating sexual talk to prevent entrapment, and said most chat logs were collected on Discord rather than Roblox. He argued that sharing personal information with police should not count as a violation.

The creator also claimed Roblox terminated every account he had owned since he was eight, including ones he used to communicate with suspects. He gave examples where Roblox allegedly failed to act on serious reports, including threats to the Las Vegas Sphere that he says were reported both to Roblox and the FBI.
