NYC will do anything but fight real crime, look at this for example

NYC is spending money on turnstile spikes to stop fare evasion. The only problem? It does nothing to stop fare evasion. People are going under, around, and over it like normal. The spikes are round, so people can just wear gloves and keep avoiding the fares. It's like NYC will spend money on stupid things, but they won't keep the subways as safe as they should be. People skipping the fare is the least of the worries in NYC.
